Wal-Mart Winter Beauty Box 2014 Unboxing

Here it is!  The much anticipated (by me, anyway) Wal-Mart Winter Beauty Box for 2014!  Funnily enough, I am not subscribed to any other beauty boxes even though I've spent way too much time over the years watching You Tube unboxings and reading blog posts about unboxings.  The Wal-Mart box seemed like a fun and inexpensive way to dip my toe into the beauty box world.  What did I get in my box, you might ask?  Well, just keep reading!  Keep in mind that I am in the (ahem) over 30 category, as it is my understanding that Wal-Mart sends somewhat different items depending on age group.

There was actually only one actual makeup item included in this box, and it was the Covergirl Outlast lipstick in #626 Canyon.  I have tried these lipsticks before and liked them, so it was a lot of fun to find one in this shipment.  I am wearing it right now and it feels quite comfortable.  You are supposed to apply the color first and let it set, then apply the very nice and comfortable balm, which comes in a separate tube.  With the balm applied, this lipstick is very comfortable.  "Canyon" is a darker color than I might normally wear, but I guess they were going for "winter" colors and it's really very pretty.  Here it is on me!

Next up is another product that will get a lot of use from me - actually two products, deluxe sample sizes of the Dove "oxygen moisture" shampoo and conditioner.  I suspect that the oxygen claims are neither here nor there, but the products are supposed to be especially for fine and thin, limp hair.  Unfortunately for me, I most definitely fall into that category!  So we shall see how this duo stacks up against other fine/thin hair products I have tried.

Next up is a good sized tub of Ponds "Rejuveness" Anti-Wrinkle cream.  This bad boy claims to make a difference on fine lines in just 2 weeks!  I don't know about that, but I will definitely give it a go.  I tend to have combination skin but with the cooler weather it's a little drier than normal.  It will be interesting to see how heavy this cream is.

Another Ponds product found its way into this box in the form of makeup removing wipes!  These are always handy to have around.  I can never have too many!  My favorite way to use them is as a pre-washing step, but in a pinch when I'm really tired they may be my first and only step, and that's okay too.

Finally, we have a sample of Maybelline "Dream Wonder" face powder with a coupon for $1 off.  This claims to have 90% less talc and be smoother less cakey than most other powders.  I have never tried this powder and wouldn't mind giving it a go.  The color of the sample is too dark for me but I suppose it's really just meant to give you a chance to feel the powder's texture.

So, what do you think of these items?  Did anyone (perhaps those under 30) get anything different?  Would you be interested in trying the spring 2015 box?  Comment below and let me know!
